Maryland lawmakers wrap up session with controversial bills addressed.

The Maryland legislature has passed bills legalizing recreational cannabis, creating a market for selling it, and sending a referendum on abortion rights to voters. Other bills passed include allowing victims of child sex abuse to file civil lawsuits, expanding the attorney general's power, and implementing a paid family leave program. Governor Wes Moore's 10 proposed bills, including raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour and creating a year-of-service program for young adults, have also passed or are expected to pass.
