Mayorkas faces criticism and no confidence vote amidst border surge plans.

Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) has introduced a vote of no confidence resolution for Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, blaming him for increased migration, drug flows, and overdoses at the southern border. The resolution would have little effect if passed in the Democrat-led Senate and would not have any bearing on impeachment efforts in the House, which have still not formally taken shape. Mayorkas has been accused of being dishonest before Congress and failing to meet the definition of operational control laid out under the Secure Fence Act of 2006. The Department of Homeland Security has called on Congress to pass legislation to fix the broken immigration system.
