Multiple Democratic Leaders Arrested in Florida Abortion Ban Protest

Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried and dozens of others were arrested while protesting Florida's abortion ban outside the Florida Capitol. The state's Senate passed a bill that would ban most abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, and House Republicans are expected to pass their own version of the bill soon. Fried and others were arrested at City Hall, including the state's Senate Democratic leader, Lauren Book. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill banning abortions after 15 weeks last year, but the new law would narrow that window even further.
