Multiple GOP Governors Send National Guard to US-Mexico Border Amid Immigration Concerns

Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves is sending the state's National Guard to the US-Mexico border to help with security amid a surge in migrant crossings and drug trafficking. Reeves blamed the Biden administration for the crisis and said that every state has become a border state. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also announced sending over 1,100 National Guard soldiers and law enforcement officers to Texas to help with security at the southern border. The border saw a surge in migrant crossings in the days leading up to the expiration of pandemic-related restrictions last week.
