Oklahoma governor criminalizes gender-affirming care for minors.

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt has signed a law making it a felony for healthcare workers to provide gender surgery, puberty-blocking drugs, or hormone doses that suppress or delay normal puberty to children under the age of 18. Violators can have their medical licenses revoked or face civil actions from a parent or guardian. The law comes amid a wave of states across the country tackling the legality of sex reassignment procedures. At least 16 states have now enacted laws restricting or banning gender surgery for minors. Civil liberty organizations have promised to "take any necessary legal action" to prevent the Oklahoma law from being enacted.
