Oregon Secretary of State's Involvement in Cannabis Audit Raises Questions.

Oregon Secretary of State Shemia Fagan recused herself from an audit of the state’s marijuana program after a consultation with the Oregon Government Ethics Commission over her plans to do part-time work for Veriede, an affiliate of La Mota, a chain of cannabis stores, whose owners donated $45,000 to Fagan’s campaign. Fagan's recusal came a year after the audit began and two weeks after a nearly final draft had been turned over to the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission for feedback.
