St. Louis Prosecutor Kim Gardner Resigns Abruptly.

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly M. Gardner has resigned abruptly, leaving the city's top prosecutor's office in disarray. Her resignation, which was initially set for June 1, has thrown the city courts system into further chaos. Gardner's office lost roughly a third of its attorneys in two months, and two judges filed to hold her in contempt of court after prosecutors didn’t show up for scheduled hearings or trials. Missouri Governor Mike Parson said he would appoint someone to replace Gardner by Friday, but in the meantime, prosecutors from Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey's office will help in St. Louis.
