Summer to Bring Indictment Decisions in Trump Georgia Probe

Fulton County DA Fani Willis will announce in the summer whether she will bring criminal charges against former President Donald Trump and his allies for their alleged efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. The announcement is expected between July 11 and Sept. 1. Willis sent letters to local law enforcement agencies asking them to prepare for "significant public reaction" to her announcement. The investigation was triggered by a phone call Trump made to Republican Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on Jan. 2, 2021, urging him to "find 11,780 votes." The special grand jury has recommended multiple indictments, but specific individuals have not been named. Trump has denied any wrongdoing.
