"Texas Governor and Chicago Mayor Clash Over Migrant Crisis Solution"

Texas Governor Gregg Abbott suggested that Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot should take her complaints about busloads of migrants being sent to her city to the White House if she does not like it. Abbott has been sending migrant buses to Chicago and other sanctuary cities in response to the increase of migrant crossings at the southern border. Lightfoot sent a letter to Abbott requesting he stop sending busloads of migrants to Chicago. Abbott responded by stating that the federal government needs to secure the border and that the illegal crossings lead to increased criminal activity, gang violence, and fentanyl. Lightfoot said she will continue to call on the federal government for more resources and support to address the influx of migrants while also demanding policy changes to the U.S. immigration system.
