Tim Scott to announce 2024 presidential bid on May 22

South Carolina Senator Tim Scott will announce his decision regarding his presidential bid on May 22 at an event in North Charleston. Scott, who announced an exploratory committee last month, would be joining a growing field of candidates seeking to be the GOP's 2024 presidential nominee, including former President Donald Trump, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley. If elected, Scott would be the country's first Black GOP president.
