Trump Co-Defendant in Georgia Election Case Pleads Not Guilty

The first defendant in the Georgia election interference case, Ray Smith, pleaded not guilty to charges including solicitation of violation of oath by public officer and making false statements. Smith, who represented former President Donald Trump in 2020 Georgia cases, waived his arraignment and was released on a $50,000 bond. Trump and 18 other individuals, including Rudy Giuliani, are scheduled to be arraigned on September 6th. It is unclear whether Trump's arraignment will be in person or virtual.
