Trump Faces Legal Troubles as Judge Allows Amendments to Carroll Defamation Suit.

A Manhattan judge has allowed E. Jean Carroll to revise her defamation lawsuit against former President Donald Trump to include similar comments he made recently on CNN. Trump had asked the judge to stop the lawsuit, claiming he could not have defamed her in 2019 when he denied her allegation of a decades-old rape. The revised lawsuit seeks at least $10 million in compensatory damages for Trump's statements in 2019 and his post-verdict conduct also "supports a very substantial punitive damages award" in her favor, "to deter him from engaging in further defamation."
