Violent altercation erupts during Minneapolis City Council candidate nominations.

A brawl broke out between supporters of two Minneapolis City Council candidates, Aisha Chughtai and Nasri Warsame, at the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party’s endorsing convention for Minneapolis Ward 10. The convention was adjourned without a nominee being chosen, and two people were injured. Chughtai claimed her supporters were assaulted, while Warsame said his campaign manager was transported to the hospital. The DFL Party Chairman condemned the behavior and said it was instigated by Warsame's supporters. No arrests were made.
