White House criticized for mishandling Afghanistan withdrawal and report.

CBS Senior White House correspondent Ed O'Keefe criticized the Biden administration's report on the botched Afghanistan withdrawal, calling it a "whitewash" that largely blamed former President Trump for the debacle. O'Keefe noted that the report only used the word "mistake" once, in reference to a drone strike that killed 10 civilians. He also criticized the report for lacking specifics and citations. Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Republican legislators also criticized the report. The war in Afghanistan spanned over two decades and four U.S. presidents, resulting in over 2,000 U.S. service member deaths and the country falling to the Taliban.
