Dodgers' Pride Night event sparks controversy and prayer in Los Angeles diocese.

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles will hold a day of prayer on Friday, June 16, in response to the Los Angeles Dodgers' decision to honor the "Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence," a charitable drag group that dresses like nuns, at its annual "Pride Night" celebration game. Archbishop José H. Gomez invited all area Catholics to a Mass kicking off the day of prayer on the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops also issued a statement urging Catholics to pray the Litany of the Sacred Heart as an act of reparation. CatholicVote is planning on having a demonstration in Los Angeles outside of Dodger Stadium on Friday.
