California Allocates Funding for Tiny Homes to Address Homelessness Crisis

California Governor Gavin Newsom has announced new funding of over $179 million to create 710 small homes for those experiencing homelessness in seven counties, including Modesto and Sacramento. The project aims to provide housing and support services, such as mental health and substance abuse assistance. The first campus, located in Sacramento, will feature 175 small homes and will be the first of its kind in the city. The governor's office is expediting the construction process to allow for the purchase of more small homes in the future.
