Nashville mourns on Easter.

Nashville, still mourning the shooting of six people at a Christian school, is in the midst of political strife and protests over the expulsion of two young Black state legislators. As the city prepares for Easter Sunday, residents across the city will gather in their many churches to contemplate the same story of hope and resurrection. The shooting deaths have had a reverberating effect through a large network of churches, Christian schools, and celebrities in the city’s interlocking worlds of music, money, and ministry. For some, this is a time to focus on grieving and connecting, while others see it as a time for political and spiritual convergence.
