Police software blamed for errors and crashes in multiple states

Spillman Technologies' policing software, which was acquired by Motorola Solutions in 2016, has been blamed for errors in at least three states, including crashing during 911 calls, losing police reports, and failing to provide the fastest routes to emergencies. The software has also been accused of creating "huge safety risks" for both first responders and civilians. Officials who have used the software allege that it has failed to deliver promised services, and some have abandoned it for more effective alternatives.
