Pornhub boycotts Utah over age-verification law.

Pornhub has blocked Utah residents from accessing its website in protest of a new law requiring users to prove their age with government-issued identification cards. The law holds companies that publish pornography liable if they don’t perform “reasonable” age verification to ensure users are adults. Pornhub criticized the requirement as ineffective, unfair and an invasion of privacy, while saying that it already boasted some of the most robust safeguards of any adult-content website on the internet. The company suggested using “device-based verification” to protect children instead.
