Some of Cruise's self-driving cars stalled on San Francisco streets after a rainstorm downed trees and wires. A witness said the vehicles did not detect and avoid caution tape and bus wires properly, becoming "tangled in them." Cruise acknowledged the incident and said it dispatched teams to remove the vehicles. The company recently filed an application with the California DMV to test its robotaxis statewide. Cruise is one of three companies authorized to commercially operate autonomous vehicles on San Francisco city streets.
