TikTok banned from use at Florida universities and state colleges.

The State University System of Florida Board of Governors has banned TikTok and other software, applications, and developers from use on university-owned devices due to cybersecurity threats. The ban is effective immediately and includes Kaspersky, VKontakte, Tencent QQ, WeChat, and any subsidiary or affiliate. The Board of Governors cited data privacy as a critical priority and identified TikTok and other foreign actors as an immediate national security risk. Bans and regulations of TikTok and social media sites have been increasing in the US and Europe due to concerns over privacy, national security, and child safety.
