US lawmakers consider TikTok ban over security concerns and CEO testimony.

Lawmakers in the US are pushing forward with plans to ban TikTok, citing national security concerns and alleging that China's government has access to user data. Despite protests from users, including Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and TikTok's efforts to relocate US user data to centers outside of China, authorities appear set on restricting the platform. The CEO of TikTok, Shou Zi Chew, appeared before a US House committee for five hours on Thursday, where he was grilled about national security and other concerns involving the app.
