Multiple Injuries as SUV Collides with Michigan State Police Car

Four people, including a Michigan State Police trooper, were injured when a suspected impaired driver crashed into a police car during a traffic stop on the Southfield Freeway in Metro Detroit. The impact caused the SUV to go airborne, striking the trooper and two others involved in the traffic stop. All three civilians sustained non-critical injuries and were taken to the hospital. The trooper may have torn his Achilles and suffered road rash from being dragged. Authorities emphasized the dangers of impaired driving and urged drivers to slow down and avoid driving under the influence.
