The five children who died in a car crash in Westchester County were likely panhandling at a New Jersey shopping center before the accident, according to surveillance video. The children, who were not enrolled in school at the time of their deaths, were on their way back home to Connecticut when the driver, who did not have a license, crashed into a tree and caused the car to burst into flames. One child survived the crash. The family remains under investigation with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families.
