OceanGate implosion likened to Titanic disaster by James Cameron.

James Cameron, director of "Titanic," compared the loss of the tourist submersible Titan to the Titanic shipwreck, stating that warnings went unheeded. The five people on board are believed to have died in a "catastrophic implosion" of the vessel. Cameron, a longtime member of the diving community, had made 33 trips to the Titanic himself. He also mourned the death of his friend, Paul-Henri "PH" Nargeolet, who was on Titan. The submersible was on its way to reach the wreck of the famous passenger liner when it lost contact.
