Tragic Plane Crash Claims North Dakota State Senator and Family

North Dakota state senator Doug Larsen, his wife Amy, and their two young children were killed in a plane crash in Utah. Larsen, who was piloting the small plane, crashed shortly after takeoff from Canyonlands Airfield. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board. Larsen, a Republican senator, was visiting family in Scottsdale and stopped to refuel in Utah. Republicans will appoint a successor to fill out the remainder of Larsen's term.
