I-95 in Philadelphia to Reopen This Weekend After Collapse

Interstate 95 in Philadelphia, which collapsed two weeks ago due to a tanker truck fire, will reopen this weekend, a week ahead of schedule. Three lanes in each direction will be available for traffic. Crews have worked around the clock to demolish and repair the interstate, with the gap underneath the interstate filled with ultra-lightweight foamed glass aggregate. The governor praised the work ethic of the Philadelphia Building Trades union workers and the coordination with local, state, and federal partners.
