Florida Implements New License Restrictions for Out-of-State Travelers

Certain driver's licenses and learner's permits from Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Rhode Island, and Vermont are now invalid in Florida, affecting primarily undocumented immigrants. The law, part of a larger immigration law, also penalizes transporting undocumented individuals into the state and using fake documentation for work. Those presenting the invalid licenses may be issued citations for driving without a valid permit, while residents of the five states without disclaimers on their licenses should not face citations if pulled over.
