Law enforcement ramps up efforts to ensure safe Labor Day travel

New Hampshire State Police are conducting DUI saturation patrols funded by grant money as part of their "No DUI Friday" campaign, with additional patrols planned for Sunday. The state's Division of Motor Vehicles reported that alcohol-impaired drivers killed 151 people from 2019 to 2022, with five deaths occurring on Labor Day weekend last year. With thousands of drivers expected on state highways this weekend, increased staffing has been implemented. AAA advises drivers to travel before 11 a.m. on Friday and before 10 a.m. or after 7 a.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Manchester-Boston Regional Airport anticipates a busy fall season, with Friday and Monday expected to be the busiest days during the Labor Day weekend.
