Georgia couple charged in grisly murder of Atlanta-area bartender found in lake

Georgia authorities arrested Mario Barber (46) and Brittany Baker (42) for allegedly murdering 37-year-old Jamal Parker, a beloved Atlanta bartender, inside a Douglasville home; Parker’s dismembered remains were later recovered from the Dog River Reservoir about 30 miles outside Atlanta. DNA confirmed his identity after his father notified investigators that tattoos matched his son. Investigators were seen leaving the Douglasville home with a reciprocating saw and cleaning supplies. Barber and Baker, both with prior criminal records, pleaded not guilty and are being held without bond. Parker, who was also a musician and artist, worked at Ms. Icey’s Kitchen & Bar.
