Irvine McLaren crash leaves two dead as witnesses recount fiery wreck

Witnesses say a McLaren in Irvine sped away from a traffic light after it turned green, its high speed causing the car to strike a curb and a tree, tear apart, and ignite. Two people were killed, including James Wehr, founder of South OC Cars and Coffee; investigators say the crash is under investigation and there is no confirmed involvement of another vehicle. Wehr’s wife Emma Pfeiffer Wehr posted tributes after his death.
