Police Fatally Shoot Man After Responding to Wrong Address in New Mexico

New Mexico State Police are investigating a fatal shooting by police officers in Farmington after they responded to the wrong house for a domestic violence call. The officers fatally shot Robert Dotson, 52, after mistakenly approaching his home and he opened his screen door armed with a handgun. Mr. Dotson's wife then fired from the house's doorway with a handgun, and the police fired back. The Farmington Police Department chief apologized for the fatal shooting and said that body camera footage from the shooting would be released in the next week.
