Trump weighs pulling Blanche’s AG nomination as GOP holdouts stall
TL;DR
President Trump says he may withdraw Todd Blanche’s nomination to be attorney general as two Republican senators on the Senate Judiciary Committee withhold support, seeking assurances that the proposed $1.8 billion anti-weaponisation fund won’t be resurrected. Blanche, who has been acting AG since April, could be renominated later, but Democrats could block such a move if they win the Senate; the confirmation remains stalled amid these conditions.
