Woman Injured in Bison Attack at Yellowstone National Park

A 47-year-old woman was gored by a bison at Yellowstone National Park, suffering significant injuries to her chest and abdomen. The incident occurred when the woman and another person encountered two bison and attempted to walk away, but one of the bison charged and attacked. Bison can be unpredictable and are currently in mating season, which can make them more agitated. This is the first bison attack in 2023, but there were several incidents last year. Visitors to Yellowstone National Park are reminded to keep a safe distance of at least 25 yards from wildlife.
