Somali Pirates Sentenced to 30 Years for Kidnapping U.S. Journalist

Two Somali men, Abdi Yusuf Hassan and Mohamed Tahlil Mohamed, were sentenced to 30 years in prison for their roles in the 2012 kidnapping of American journalist Michael Scott Moore, who was held hostage for over two years by pirates. Hassan, a former Somali interior minister, and Mohamed, a Somali army officer, were key figures in the abduction.
