Arraez to Phillies Sparks Infield Shake-Up
TL;DR
The Phillies acquired 2B Luis Arraez and RHP Caleb Kilian from the Giants in a five-player swap that sends minor leaguers Ramon Marquez and Marty Gair to San Francisco; Philadelphia will reshuffle its infield with Bryson Stott to third, Alec Bohm to first, and Bryce Harper back in the outfield, as Arraez brings elite contact hitting and strong defense at second ahead of free agency. The Giants add infield depth with Nate Furman and Osleivis Basabe, while Arraez’s move is viewed as a value play for Philly and SF’s reset ahead of the trade deadline.
