Ex-Phillies Pitcher Larry Christenson Dies at 72

Larry Christenson, a former Phillies pitcher and 1972 No. 3 overall pick, died unexpectedly at 72. He spent 11 seasons in Philadelphia, highlighted by a strong run from 1975–78, contributed to the 1980 World Series title, finished his career 83-71 with a 3.79 ERA in 243 appearances (1,402 2/3 innings), and remained active in Phillies charities after retiring.
