Tragedy on a training ride: two Milligan cyclists die, seven injured in Tennessee crash

Two Milligan University cyclists Haylan Engdahl and Brayden Rogers were killed and seven others were injured when a driver struck a group during a morning training ride on Highway 19 in Hampton, Tennessee. The driver, a 69-year-old man from North Carolina, was arrested on two counts of reckless vehicular homicide and five counts of aggravated assault by vehicle with recklessness. About 11 riders were on the ride; four students were in critical condition, two stable, and one discharged by evening; the Tennessee Highway Patrol continues the investigation. Milligan, a private Christian university with roughly 1,200 students, had won a national team title earlier this year.
