Former Bills punter Matt Araiza cleared of alleged gang rape involvement

Prosecutors have decided not to press criminal charges against former Buffalo Bills punter Matt Araiza after a witness testified that he was not present during an alleged gang rape of a minor at a party in October 2021. Araiza was also not visible in any of the videos recovered from the night in question. The San Diego District Attorney's office was unable to prove that there was awareness of the then-17-year-old's age or her intoxication level. Araiza has filed a claim against San Diego State University for damage to his reputation.
