"Rhode Island Men Charged in Fatal Brawl at Gillette Stadium Resulting in Patriots Fan's Death"

Two Rhode Island men, John Vieira and Justin Mitchell, have been charged with assault and battery and disorderly conduct following the death of Patriots fan Dale Mooney at Gillette Stadium. Mooney collapsed during a fight with a group of fans during a game between the New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins. The medical examiner ruled Mooney's death as a "Probable cardiac dysrhythmia in a person with severe hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease during a physical altercation." Autopsy results and video evidence did not establish a basis for criminal prosecution related to homicide. Vieira and Mitchell are scheduled to appear in court in January.
