Anaheim Mayor Invites Drag Nuns to Pride Night, Criticizes Dodgers' Homophobia

The mayor of Anaheim, Ashleigh Aitken, has invited the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to Angels Pride Night after the Dodgers disinvited the group to their own pride night, causing controversy. The Sisters are a nonprofit that fundraises and volunteers for the LGBTQ+ community, and sometimes dress in drag as nuns. Mayor Aitken tweeted that "Pride should be inclusive and like many, I was disappointed in the Dodgers decision." The Dodgers have not responded to criticism, and the Sisters and other L.A.-based LGBTQ+ groups have not responded to the mayor's invitation as of yet.
