Belmont Park reopens with upgrades, but outside alcohol is banned

Belmont Park on Long Island officially reopened after a three-year hiatus, boasting a $455 million renovation that includes a five‑story glass grandstand, a larger paddock, a winter-friendly synthetic track, and substantially more green space. Governor Hochul touted an expected $155 million in annual economic impact and thousands of jobs. New rules ban outside alcohol and coolers; guests may bring food and one non‑alcoholic drink in a permitted bag, while alcohol is sold on‑site. The fall meet runs Thursday through Sunday through December 6; general admission is $7–$10, grandstand seats are $50 with a $25 food/beverage credit. The complex aims to function as an entertainment hub beyond racing and is accessible by LIRR and bus.
