Elon Musk Foots the Bill for Celebs' Twitter Blue Subscriptions

Elon Musk has personally paid for several top celebrities' Twitter Blue subscriptions, including LeBron James, William Shatner, and Stephen King, who previously railed against the idea of paying for verification. Twitter removed legacy verification badges this week and charges $8 for a blue check. Some celebrities, like James, were given complimentary subscriptions to Twitter Blue, and rapper Ice T appears to have also retained his blue checkmark without paying for it. Meanwhile, a slew of big names in the same industries have lost their Twitter verification badges.
