Brodzinski shines as Capitals roll to 5-2 preseason win over Flyers

The Capitals beat the Flyers 5-2 in the second 2026 NHL preseason game, played at the Giant Center in Hershey. Jonny Brodzinski scored twice (continuing a two-game goal streak), while Dylan Strome and Ryan Leonard also found the net, and Aliaksei Protas helped kickstart the scoring. Charlie Lindgren and Clay Stevenson split in net (Lindgren allowed 2 goals on 16 shots; Stevenson stopped all six). Defenseman Ryan Chesley impressed with his mobility and decision‑making. Washington’s depth forwards and a developing power play were key talking points, and Andrew Cristall’s cross-check incident could draw suspension attention as camp continues.
