Astros' Jose Altuve out for over two months after thumb surgery.

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve underwent surgery on his fractured right thumb and is expected to resume baseball activities in two months. Altuve was hit by a pitch during Venezuela's loss to the United States in the World Baseball Classic. The eight-time All-Star is likely to return in late May or early June, leaving a hole in the Astros' lineup and at second base. The team may turn to utility players Mauricio Dubón and David Hensley to cover Altuve while he's out, but Astros general manager Dana Brown hasn't ruled out going outside the organization for help.
