Bears Plot Critical Roster Gaps After Free Agency Kickoff

After the first wave of free agency, the Bears still must shore up the safety room (Brisker unsigned; Byard signed elsewhere; Hicks re-signed; two more safeties expected), bolster cornerback depth, add a blocking tight end, upgrade the defensive line at interior and edge spots, and refill wide receiver and offensive-line depth (center and left tackle concerns after the Bradbury trade and Trapilo injury). Expect additional free-agent moves or Day 2/3 draft targets in these areas.
