D-backs manager Torey Lovullo was ejected from the game after arguing with the umpire over two pitches that hit star outfielder Corbin Carroll. Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto let Lovullo know the pitches were not intentional, and both benches and bullpens emptied. Realmuto went on to hit for the cycle and draw a walk in the game. Lovullo admitted that he didn't think the pitcher intentionally hit Carroll, but he thought both pitches were thrown in spots they shouldn’t have been. The D-backs won the game 9-8, their sixth straight win.
