Chris Sale Placed on 60-Day Injured List by Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox have transferred lefty Chris Sale to the 60-day injured list due to a stress reaction in his shoulder blade. Sale won't require surgery but will be shut down for three to four weeks before being reevaluated. The team will have to figure out how to proceed without him, as he won't be eligible to return until August. Sale has been severely held back by injuries in recent years, pitching just over 100 innings since the end of the 2019 campaign.
