Drake Maye leads strong Patriots showing in Colts joint practice, ends with late turnover

Two-hour, full-pads joint practice at Gillette saw Drake Maye threading the Patriots’ offense with multiple explosive plays to A.J. Brown, Romeo Doubs and Eli Raridon, but his day ended on a sour note with an end-zone interception by Cam Bynum on the final two-minute drive. Tom DeVito continued to impress for New England, throwing a deep touchdown to Kyle Williams and connecting with Raridon and Henry for scores. The absence of Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis left the secondary exposed at times, while the Colts found rhythm late against the backups. John Saunders Jr. added a late interception for NE, and Borregales went 5-for-7 on field goals as teams prep for the preseason opener, in which Maye isn’t expected to play.
