Hunter Greene signs 6-year, $53M extension with Reds.

The Cincinnati Reds have signed starting pitcher Hunter Greene to a six-year, $53 million contract extension, with a $21 million club option for 2029. The deal includes performance escalators and is the largest pre-arbitration contract extension the Reds have given to one of their players. Greene, considered one of the premier pitching prospects in the country, missed all of 2019 after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He has a 4.24 ERA with six walks and 24 strikeouts over 17 innings in four starts this season.
